Université Bordeaux 1 (France)
The University of Bordeaux (Université de Bordeaux) has been created in January 2014, gathering existing Universities and institutes. Open and humanist, the University of Bordeaux is aimed to be a place of freedom, creativity and responsibility. In tune with the challenges of society, the University contributes to the development of the creation, transmission and enhancement of knowledge and the promotion of critical thinking.
The activities of the University are: initial and vocational training, scientific and technological research, dissemination of culture and scientific information, and international cooperation.
The University welcomes more than 50.000 students, whose 6.000 foreigners and 2.000 PHD students. She is composed of:
- 4 faculties: Sciences and technology, Law and economics, Health, Humanities
- 2 institutes: Institute of Technology (IUT), Institute of Wine (ISVV), Institute of teaching and education (ISPE)
- 3 research departments in Sciences and Technology, Social Sciences and Humanities, Health
The University of Bordeaux offers more than forty international trainings (bachelor, master, phd) and is actively involved in European programs both in the field of training and research. She is the first university in France in respect of its participation in the Erasmus Mundus program.
